Classic Fruit Punch
A classic punch recipe that kids can enjoy, this variation of the fruit punch recipe uses a few more ingredients that most fruit punches do, but it still tastes delicious and has a slightly more complex offering that is sure to please the palate.
To make the Classic Fruit Punch, you will need:
- 4 cups Ginger Ale
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup hot decaf green tea (or herbal tea)
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup cherries
Boil the water and mix in the sugar until it has completely dissolved. Once it has dissolved, add the syrup, pineapple juice and lemon juice and mix thoroughly. Then add the tea.
Once you have mixed all of the ingredients together, put it in the refrigerator and let it sit for approximately 30 minutes. Once it has cooled down, add the cherries and the ginger ale and serve in a punch bowl. Make sure to add a large block of ice to keep the punch cool.
Add More Water if Necessary
If the recipe is too fruity, feel free and add a little more water to dilute it. If the punch is not as fruity as you would normally like it, add a little more fruit syrup but be sure to mix extremely well.
Not Tough to Make but with a complex Taste
There are a lot of different ingredients that go into this Classic Fruit Punch recipe. Because of that, it tastes far more complex than the simple drink mix you can get from the grocery store, and is a great deal better as well.
Any tea can be used besides the green tea, but green tea tends to have a slightly more global aftertaste for the appreciative tongue. Earl Gray works as well, as does a fruit based tea. If you are serving it to kids, however, make sure you remember not to use a tea with too much caffeine. It is hard to enjoy the fruit punch yourself if you are chasing kids around the house.
